The Role
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, this role will see you spearhead health and safety operations at the Tauriko site in conjunction with the various teams, working towards ensuring that GIB’s health and safety objectives are met. In addition to this you will:
- Ensure SOPs are accurate, current, recorded, available and reviewed
- Manage incident reports and investigations
- Ensure that audit and verification processes are operated appropriately
- Organise compliance and other necessary training to ensure that training and certification of required personnel is always current
- Develop a culture that supports HSE management, encouraging and recognising best practice
- Ensure health, safety and environment features prominently in induction and ongoing staff development
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a results-driven team player with a passion for safety and a focus on contributing to continuous improvement. In addition to this you will have:
- 5+ years’ practical application and implementation of HSE process and disciplines in an operational environment (heavy industries preferred)
- A relevant health and safety qualification
- Thorough understanding of NZ health and safety legislation
- Mentoring, advising and leadership skills
- A collaborative, engaging and influential manner, with a good sense of humour
- Well established communication and interpersonal skills
