Stuart’s career evolved from sales to software support and eventually found his niche in recruitment; helping people achieve success enabled Stuart to find his own.
Focusing on recruitment for executive-level roles and head-hunting ex-pat Kiwis to tempt them into returning home, Stuart knows from experience that a “cookie cutter” approach doesn’t work, and using a search-based methodology for each assignment means that true collaboration between clients and candidates can be achieved.
Stuart’s expertise has been utilized by some of New Zealand’s most innovative and respected brands, including Kiwibank, ANZ Bank, 9 Spokes, 2degrees, ASB Bank, Westpac, Livestock Improvement Corporation, Les Mills International, SkyCity, Air New Zealand, Fletcher Building, and Facteon (to name just a few).
After surviving the worldwide events of 2008, Stuart and his long-time friend and colleague, Tim Slyfield, came together with the shared vision of starting a recruitment consultancy where people mattered more than profit. They just couldn’t let go of the idea of being able to nurture and develop a team of consultants who would embody the values that were intrinsic to their own success.
Flash forward to early 2011 the conversation had evolved into enough action to launch Alexander James with little fanfare but great promise. And that’s exactly how Alexander James has continued to function: little fanfare but great results.
