The Company

Our client is a national Tier 1 contractor with a well-established presence across the Wellington region. With ongoing surfacing programmes and a strong regional delivery team, they’re seeking a Surfacing Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of reseals, asphalt works, and pavement upgrades across local and regional networks.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for surfacing operations across the Wellington region, leading crews, managing plant and materials, and ensuring programmes are delivered on time, to spec, and safely.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong oversight, subcontractor coordination, and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including council and client reps.

Key Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in surfacing (reseals/asphalt) within civil or maintenance.
• Proven people leadership and strong focus on safety and compliance.
• Skilled in planning, scheduling, and managing daily/weekly programmes.
• Familiarity with surfacing specs and network maintenance standards preferred.
• Ability to mentor crews and drive quality and efficiency on the ground
